2018 Gratitude Day 2

Wow here it is November 2, 2018.

This month I want to focus on the people that I am thankful for. These people have done wonders for me and I just want to share why I am thankful for them.

I am working on the 5.4 project now and will be sharing information about the team that is helping me on the 5.4 project.

I want to lift up my main body mechanic; Chris of The Otter Bodywork Spa; Chris has excellent deep tissue technique and works very hard to keep the knots out of my body. Chris has been working with me for about 10 years now; He enjoys what he does, and he is very compassionate with his clients. If you need an excellent Masseuse I highly recommend him. He is based out of Tulsa, but he does visit other areas. If you want the best massage you want your body work done by Chris.

Tomorrow I will be sharing information about some of the best Personal Trainers that I have found in the Tulsa area, each have been instrumental in helping me reach my goals.

 

2018 Gratitude Day 1

Wow here it is November 1, 2018 and you haven’t heard from me for a while. I must apologize for my absence for such an extended time.

This month I want to focus on the people that I am thankful for. These people have done wonders for me and I just want to share why I am thankful for them.

For those that do not know me as well as others a short history lesson back in the early 1990’s I was working at a Swine Reproduction Facility; where I was heavily involved in the Swine Husbandry and caring for their offspring.

In late 1993 I had a Sow (female Hog) run between my legs lift me up and landed me on the curb of a concrete gutter. This created a curve in my spine that had to manipulated by several Chiropractors.

I want to lift up my Chiropractor; Dr. Marcia Gran of Gran Miracle Chiropractic and her husband Dr. Pack Miracle; together they have helped keep me moving over the past 15 plus years.

If you are in need of Chiropractic care and are in the Tulsa area I highly recommend them. Regular chiropractic care in my opinion is why I do not take a lot of medication; because the care helps keep me in balance. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with having a regular physician to ensure that you stay healthy with routine visits but make sure you have a Chiropractor on your team as well.

I am working on the 5.4 project now and will be sharing information about the team that is helping me on the 5.4 project. Tomorrow I will be sharing information about the best body mechanic that I have found in the Tulsa area, he has excellent technique and he keeps me mobile.

Worry Not — Get Back to the Basics

I believe sometimes I overly complicate life; at least for me. Maybe it is the same for you. Lately the chorus of a song that keeps going through my head. I’m pretty sure God is trying to send me a message. The lyrics are from a song written by Mark Harris of the group 4 Him it goes; “We need to get back To the basics of life A heart that is pure And a love that is blind A faith that is fervently grounded in Christ The hope that endures for all times These are the basics, we need to get back To the basics of life.”

The Word was there in the beginning, The Word is now, and The Word will always be. We are told in The Word not to worry; “”Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:25-34 NIV

How many times do we forget this; when we worry we are actually saying; “God, I can’t believe that you are able to take care of me.” To be honest I still struggle, when I see obstacles I say, “I Got This.” , seems like every time I think I got this something goes wrong. I have to remember to humble myself and remind myself “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:3 NIV


Life is to Short

We try to cram 26 hours in a 24 hour day; practice multitasking all for what. I don’t know about you but I think life should be enjoyed.

Yes, we have others counting on us but what about you. Who is taking care of you? You get so busy taking care of others you forget to take care of you. Some say I’ll slow down later I have to get a head now. What is ahead? We are only guaranteed the breathe that we have right now. If you are not satisfied where you are; perhaps it is because you are not doing the plan God has for you.

Recently I have been thinking; what if I started looking more into what God’s plans are for my life? Maybe I am not alone maybe there are others that for one reason or another keep tripping up trying to become more satisfied with life. What would you think of a 12 week course that will help you start Living Life by His Design? I am working on the modules now planning on launching at the first of the year. I also need your help. I am thinking of 72 lessons plans but I want to tailor this for you so what questions do you have that you would like answered in these modules?

If you are not making progress make a change

OK it has been a while I am slowly making progress on my goal to lose weight but it hasn’t been easy. I currently have two trainers one by the name of Drew over at Elite Fitness Training in Tulsa, he is working with my wife and I to get our bodies moving. Of course we are only working with him twice a week, but we want to make more progress so we also joined Planet Fitness, the membership is very affordable and they offer a free trainer, we are working with Jordan there we are making progress but very slowly; the question then comes up what kind of fuel are you using in your machine. Huh, what kind of fuel are feeding yourself, think of your body as an engine are you giving yourself good food or bad food? We examined our eating habits and like most have a very hectic schedule and weren’t eating properly so we decided to try something very different. We decided to explore using a personal chef to help us change our diet, to a more whole food plant based diet. We found a chef Preston who runs Preston cooks for You, I chatted with him on what we were wanting to accomplish.

He sent over a few meal ideas and I had them prepare them for us. Wanda is not a big fan of asparagrass and really doesn’t like eggplant. To be perfectly honest she really would not eat vegetables. Preston has really changed her mind she is loving the new foods of course this is very new to us but for me I am already noticing a difference on the scale.

If you aren’t making progress in where you want to go take a step back and ask what can I do different that could get me the results.

You are here because of …

Life is full of choices good ones and bad ones. Oh the Forest Gump voice just went off in my head “Life is like a box of chocolates, you don’t know what you are getting until you bite into it.” I may have paraphrased that a little. The truth is there is no good choice or bad choice the truth is they are all learning experiences of you choose to learn from them. There were times I wish I had a do over in life; what would that really accomplish me, another chance to screw up no what I really was wanting was another chance to attempt the event or not do the event using the information I had learned from the previous encounter. Take getting injured moving Lava Rocks (big rocks made from molten Lava) they are big somewhat light but still heavy. I had injured myself went to the doctor was told I needed surgery, ok got that covered I have insurance so no problem.

I get scheduled for a surgery consult the following month. About two weeks before I go for the consult, I got called into work; I really didn’t want to go but I needed the job so I had to go. Turned out one of clients for the day was the daughter of a well-known pastor that was known for his evangelism and his healing ministries. As I was leaving she said “Don’t worry everything will work out alright.” My reaction was uh ok, at that time it really didn’t make sense to me. I go to the surgery consult and that is when I find out that the insurance that was provided by my wife’s employer did NOT cover outpatient surgery. Here I am got my weight down to 195 was wearing a 33 waist jean and those were getting loose, I was going to have to not work out for the next 8 weeks. I really didn’t change my eating habits I kept the same amount of food coming in while I was recuperating (giving my body fuel for recovery) net effect In December when I started back into training I was 223 the size 33 jean is feeling pretty tight. I got where I was because I didn’t adjust to what went in front of me. The important thing is that I learned, I knew I had success in the past and I know I can do it again.

Monday MoJo – Define yourself

Tomorrow we start the first of December. I will be working on making the next 31 days very productive and very rewarding for those around me. When I started the 5.0 process I wanted to get rid of the keg and find a 6 pack, well I found the 6 pack in August and the Keg came back in October. This past month I have written more than I have in the past. I have spoken more than in the past. In the coming month I will be designing a new product to be released right after Christmas that will help move us forward next year to make 2016 the most successful year. I am looking for some alpha testers to help me out on this project. We all have items that we want to work on, we have items that define us and some of us want to redefine who we are. If you are interested in being part of the Alpha group comment below and I will send you more information. The group will be an accountability partnership with weekly conference calls and weekly encouragement. I want to help you reach your goals early in 2016. When you reach your goals you help define who you are. For me it is about focusing on the essentials and working on removing distractions. I am opening this up to 12 people for the Alpha group which will launch on December 16th and the rest will launch on December 30th I am excited about helping others find their internal happiness and helping them become who they long to become.

Gratitude Day 30 – a Shield

30 Days of Gratitude but every day I will be thankful. I encourage you to be grateful for each day that you are present. I encourage you to be present in every day that you are here. This is a time to celebrate time with family. It is not about the gifts, it is not about out doing the neighbor, and it is about being present with those you love. Write a note to everyone that matters to you letting them know what you truly feel about them. This month of gratitude was about showing what I am thankful for. I am especially thankful for you spending time with me as I shared what I am grateful for and hopefully I have encouraged you to focus on your gratitude as well.

Gratitude Day 29 — Discipline

One of the hardest habits to get into is becoming disciplined. When I got ready for surgery back in September I let go of a discipline that helped me get back to where I wanted to be, the discipline of working out regularly. I got lazy kept eating at the same pace I was when I was working out and guess what I gained back most of what I had lost. I started getting back on my diet and in two days I will be getting with my trainer and Chris and we are going to refocus and get this back off. The hard part is we are in the holiday season with food galore. Although I work with a trainer twice a week. I am going to be working out 6 times a week. For the entire month of December, I want to lose what I gained back in December. Next month I will not only be working on the discipline of getting back in shape but I am also developing a new product that is going to help others work on accountability and becoming more focused. For the month of December I encourage you to become more disciplined and paying in cash and not using credit. Be mindful of those around you and enjoy the season. I am thankful that you have been with me on this journey. I can tell you it has been difficult to post everyday. So next month I am planning on just doing the Monday MoJo.
