Gratitude Day 7 – Keep my Word

I am so grateful for my Father and my Grandfather they taught me to always try to be a person of my word. I was taught to have my yes’s be yes and my no’s no. No was also one of the hardest words for me to master. To be perfectly honest; I still have problems with the word. As I move more in to the practice of minimization, I am finding it easier. By practicing No I am actually saying yes to being able to spend time on and with those that matter most to me.

Proverbs 7:1-3 My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you.  Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.  Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.

As we move into the holiday season we are more prone to overscheduling ourselves. When we overschedule we tend to get tenser with the pressure of the season and the commitment and obligations we keep saying yes to. This year let’s work on saying No more and Yes less. Do those things that bring you enjoyment and helps you focus on those things that matter most to you.
